I went to one of my very best friends, Allsion Lawson Turner's, wedding this past weekend. It was the most fun I have had in a while!!! I arrived a little late so there wasn't much hanging out on Friday but I was still fun. I was able to see her for a couple of hours before she had to hit the sack. Early Saturday afternoon we all met down at the hotel bar and had Bloody Mary's before we headed to the hair salon so Allison and Callista, the matron of honor, could get their hair did!!! We drank wine and champagne and had a blast. Once we were back at the hotel we all got ready and then went down to the boat. As she was walking down the dock I almost started crying. She was super beautiful in her wedding dress and Chad. her new Husband, was just as handsome!!! That's all I can say about it right now without crying so I'm going to stop while I'm ahead. I haven't downloaded all of my pictures yet but here are a few of us girls. Pictures from the boat will follow later...

I Forgot!!

Ok peeps. I have video everywhere but here is a pretty awesome version of Superman. Which isn't on any of his current albums. He has performed it before though. I hadn't heard it until Sept., 6th. Very motivational!! Makes you think you can do anything.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!

I got to go to a concert with my little sister Anna the weekend before we were to drop her off for her first year of college!!! I had to take her to a good one so I drove 3 hours to B'ham on a Sunday night just so she could see one of my FAVORITE artists!!! He goes by the name of David Ryan Harris!!! This was one of his best concerts so far!!!! She wasn't really sure what to think but all I can say is buy the end of the concert she was a fan. He played two songs that I had never heard before. The first was Superman which he has performed in other venues and one that is untitled. It was about his fabulous mother who happens to have the same birthday as mine!!! August 20th is a GREAT DAY!!!

Savannah

My family and I went to Savannah to drop off the Very Last Akpele child who hasn't yet been to college!! Yep, we dropped Anna off at SCAD and it was pretty cool!! I have never really gotten to explore the area and I got to do just that for a couple of days. I could live down there if I had the money. Below are a couple of Photos that I took. I wish I would have had time to take more.

Apple Hill Farm

I am a week late in posting this but better late then never right. It has been a week since I have been home from by relaxing trip to Waynesville, NC. Waynesville, NC you say....Yes!! I have a fabulous friend who owns a 5 acre farm in Waynesville. It is called Apple Hill Farm. It has a main house and a cottage which her sister lives in. It has a pretty old barn, a shed and other out buildings that I'm not quite sure about. There are also apple trees!!! Apple season doesn't really start until September so there weren't many on the trees when I was there. She has a creek that runs through the property and a natural fresh water well that is attached to the plumbing so you can drink really great fresh water from the kitchen sink!!! I'm glad I was able to visit and I hope to be able to go back soon. Check out some of my pictures below.

MayerCraft Carrier II

So it has been a while since I have been on here. I should have done this a couple of weeks ago but I am kind of still recuperating. I still think I am on west coast time. most nights I can't sleep before 3AM!!!! Someone help!!

Anyway, I got to go on this really cool trip called the MayerCraft Carrier Cruise. This a concert cruise hosted by John Mayer and there are also other bands that make the trip even better. This is the second year it has happened and the second time I have gone. I would have to say that this year was better then the last. I was able to spend more time with the friends that I made last time as they were my cabin mates and next door cabin mates. I also had the pleasure of having one of my long time friends come this time. Where does one begin???

Ok so lets start at the beginning. Last year we were teased with details of where the cruise was going to be, for how long and where we would be going. This torture for a couple of weeks was enough to get everyone excited. We finally learn that we are flying into LAX, leaving from Long Beach and sailing to Cabo San Lucas!!!! Wooohooooo!!! So the countdown begins and before you know it we are on a plane for Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on our way to LA. When I say we I mean my friends Tanesha, Amanda, Geneva and myself. We are meeting up with our other friends Monica, Linda, Shannon, LeQui and Trish.

The first day begins on Thursday the 26th. We arrive in LA and make our way to the boat, The Carnival Splendor. It is the biggest boat that Carnival has to date. We were hoping our shuttle driver would stop at Pinks so we could all get a hotdog but he wouldn't do it so we got dropped off at the Queen Mary instead. the Queen Mary was a cruise ship that was decommissioned and now serves as a hotel. We were all starving so we hit up one of the restaurants and filled out bellies. Next we get swanky luxury car taxi's that take us to our real ship, which is the Splendor. We arrive at the Splendor and get settled in and then we start to explore. We will all be going to the One Splendid Evening Show which was to help VH1's Save The Music. So the time has come for everyone to get snazzed up and ready for dinner so we can get to the OSE concert. The headliner of course is John Mayer but his guests are Jordin Sparks, Gavin Rosedale, Sara Bareilles, Erin McCarly, OAR and Guster. All I can say is that I wish Sara would be on the next cruise along with Erin and all of the others. They were all AWESOME!!!

Ok.....I'm back. It has taken me way to long to finish this so I'm just going to let the pictures explain!! The only way to explain it is that I had way to much fun!!!!

Performance Art

Today in my second class @ GSU we worked with movement. What is that you say???? Well let me explain. My second class is a critical thinking through writing class which is kind of more art and thinking then writing per say. Throughout the semester we have worked on an altered book, a performance art piece that was related to our altered book and now we are working on movement. So today we were outside in the park that is next to GSU and we were doing all kinds of things. We started out by doing a Butoh movement. We had to walk across the field with out feet never leaving the ground, no heel to ball of foot movement. You were sliding your feet, standing up very straight with your head up and your eyes forward and breathing. It was like a form of meditation almost. I thought that part was pretty fun!!! We also crawled on the ground like we were climbing a mountain, acted like we were disfigured people, put our trust in our class mates by closing our eyes and doing several different exercises. Again all I can say was today was very cool!!!!!!
